5 On Friday - Remember The Alamo
Five on Friday is the creation of our friend Travis at Trav's Thoughts. To join in, select five songs to display on your blog and then sign in on Trav's location to share with others.
This date is connected to another Travis. On February 24 in 1836 in San Antonio, Texas, Colonel William Travis issued a call for help on behalf of the texas troops defending the Alamo, an old Spanish mission under attack by the Mexican Army. The fort would fall to the Mexican Army on March 6 and a legend was born.
Great Article called Jammin' At The Alamo with mp3 links to some of the possible music played as Crockett who was an accomplished fiddler and MacGregor a bagpiper had musical duels to keep up the spirits of the defenders.
