His quotes are so much about peace and tolerance, and unifying the country.Travis Codyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06192526507760146748noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20306397.post-37846948708826263082008-06-06T04:12:00.000-07:002008-06-06T04:12:00.000-07:00I remember June 6, 1968, much too well. To this day, when I see a picture of Bobby Kennedy, I smell fresh starch - strange, eh?Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05698969349369789642noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20306397.post-11114819637975493652008-06-05T12:55:00.000-07:002008-06-05T12:55:00.000-07:00Oh Jamie, I'm with you remembering and hoping. :DOh Jamie, I'm with you remembering and hoping. :Dmaryt/theteachhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17516961981692076719noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20306397.post-32390712732167670902008-06-05T10:12:00.000-07:002008-06-05T10:12:00.000-07:00I, too, had cast my primary vote for RFK as I live...I, too, had cast my primary vote for RFK as I lived in SF at the time. I was studying for a final the next day, watched the victory speech, and turned off the tv when he said, "and now it's on to Chicago." It was the next morning when I first heard the news. Some how or other I made my way to campus and took my one and only final before graduating a week later. The war, protests, MLK's assassination, crazy campus politics, presidents resigning, all made for a fury of anger in June 1968.eProf2https://www.blogger.com/profile/03977043251946962968noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20306397.post-1112702425000517822008-06-05T07:57:00.000-07:002008-06-05T07:57:00.000-07:00Bobby Kennedy seemed to offer such hope. I was only a kid at the time, in the UK, but I've learnt a lot about the period since then.anthonynorthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06680944720744601697noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20306397.post-38669352784730849422008-06-05T07:33:00.000-07:002008-06-05T07:33:00.000-07:00Jamie, As if it were just yesterday, I tooremember...Jamie,

As if it were just yesterday, I too
remember 40 years ago--only I was
here in CT waiting to cast a vote
for Bobby Kennedy---sadly never to have had that opportunity. I am
envious & proud that you did cast your vote for Bobby Kennedy--probably my only hero, even til today.

Back then, it was from the heights of excitement & sheer joy to the depths of despair in a matter of a few hours.

As I mentioned at c-list the NYT
today--the opinion page has some
stories from RFK's children in
remembrance of him.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
