Party On

While we still wander in the wilderness, mi casa es su casa.
Craig will advise when crawfordslist.com is ready for a housewarming party.

Feel free to prowl through the rooms, rearrange the furniture to your liking and plump the pillows.

    I like Stevenson or Masala...

white lettering on a colored background might be pretty for a short while, but I think would be tiring on the eyes....

  11. Craig, for us really old folks, BLACK FONT on WHITE is the best. Pale Palettes, while initially nice, would be hard to read. Bob, blue crush is good.

So the cost of the that blog is about the same as owning your own domain name. Hummm, and it appears to give your own domain name by the URL. I'm thinking of developing a web something - page - site for work, and certainly would want to distance it from my blog here. So this is a thought.

Mad, I slept off and on again today. Like you, I'll probably be up for days.

  12. In the fonts ... Go Font Yourself good, ....it's hand writing The Page would have the look of someone at the kitchen counter writing out ''"Crawford's List " on the Tickle template which is papery looking almost a report's note book look .

  16. So, I get this new software today that generates shapes and animates them ...I put it on U Tube as a test . ..Then I take to the movie studio and start clicking through the 48 different effects on in the movie program and if I put it out as movie with almost every effect laid over it ...It'd be the most interesting thing I ever make ....... Here's Donuts, is there anything they can't do ?

  18. Hey jamie - Thanks for the e-mail.

Craig - As a fellow Magoo-ite, the Beckett & Folio seem a little difficult to read. I don't quite need anything in braille yet, but please pick something that is kind to our eyes.

Anybody else think Imus & Mr. Newsweek are reading the Clinton/Wal-less interview all wrong?

I didn't think there was anything wrong with Clinton calling it like it was; a Fox lemming doing what he was told.

Ignoring it, playing the part of the politician, would only have made Clinton seem cold & uncaring. Emotion is not unprofessional, it is human. We are not Borg yet.

  22. Mornin' all, so Craig's et up by beta blogger? Hope things get back to blogger's normal screwed up state soon. There's a little ditty out there in medialand about the NIE that has to have Bushco cringing - it verifies what those of us foulmouthed liberal bloggers have been saying, that we are at greater threat from a stronger bunch of islamic radicals than we were before we set up Iraq as a recruiting tool and have given afghanistan the go ahead to up opium production and house and protect the Taliban and al quaeda (complete with fearless leader UBL). I just hope the Dems take this and run with it for the midterms - best I can tell, the idiots are trying to run on the economy in the face of falling gasoline prices and a housing buyer's market. (Hmm, let's see"deficit" or "terrorist" - which one has a better ring? Sorry boys, it's the T word - embrace it and run on it). By the way, isn't this stuff supposed to be secret?

Oh, and jamie, thanksfo rletting us sleep on your couch.

  24. An open letter to Howard Dean(please feel free to add your own suggestions)

OK, Howie, listen up. You have two issues to run on this fall - don't screw this up. The first is the NIE report from April saying that we're less secure and that terror is at a higher level than it was before 9/11. Please at least mention this. In fact, have every dem running for a seat make it a centerpiece of their campaign. The second is that the Repugs can't do shit when they have the opportunity. Congress has fiddled with stupid crap like Terry Schiavo and keeping the french from eating our horses, but can't seem to address the issues people who vote but don't hod office care about - like passing budgets or bills on immigration and border security, or lobbying reform or just about anything else that might actually have some effect on the issues that threaten us most. You might also point out that one of the major reasons nothing happens in Washington anymore is that the Repugs who have half a brain are stalling the legislative process by joining with Democrats (remember the group of 14?) or by outright defying the White House torture merchantsand keeeping anything other than torture of prisoners from being discussed and acted upon. It appears you are considering trying to make the economy the centerpiece of the fall congressional elections. How should I put this? DON'T DO THAT. Most people's wages have not gone up in the 6 years Bushco has had to f*ck up this country, and the rich have gotten much richer in that time period, but gas prices are falling along with housing prices and mortgage interest rates, so if the vote their pocketbooks, voters may just be happier than you seem to think. I know you're very smart and all, but you didn't win your last election, and it would be nice to reverse the trend that you were a part of and get something that looks like balance back into Washington. Hope this helps.
    Sincerely, Pogo

P.S. If you read this at jamie's place, here's an article about the do nothing congress. Feel free to use it.

    For what it's worth,
Masala or Sunburned look pretty good. The Green one is very soooooothing, but I'm not crazy about it, and I don't like the dark backgrounds - too goth.

  27. Pogo ...Roger that ..... Bush went to Iraq with a 5 gal. gas can, and a book of matches. He poured the gas all over the country and started lighting matches .Then he stood in the middle of the flames and repeated. " Stay the Course..Stay the Course."

  28. Jamie I can get to the page that tells about the clocks but I can't get any of the links there to open .... just blank pages with the address in the window. My donut movie is up. I used Homer Simpson as a tag . So when it came up the first time there are all the Simpson clips too .... 196,732 of them .

  29. CBob,

It must be something on your end. I go to the page and it works perfectly. Very Weird.

Has anyone else tried the clock?

  30. Just so you know what it is supposed to do: When you move your cursor everything starts flying around. When you leave it still, the date spins around the outside. The clock tells the time for your area, and the hands move.

    Hi Bob

Oddly enough I'm in the same boat as you. When I wrote the clock page I was running OS-9 and I was able to arrange for a nice Java environment in several of my browsers. Since I have moved to OS-X I can't make anything work. If you figure out a way to see them I'd appreciate hearing about it and I'd give you credit for the explanation on the clocks page. Downloading and installing the Java module doesn't seem to help -- apparently there are "dialects" of Java and they are mutually incomprehensible, or something.

  41. One section of the Department of Defense is refusing to submit a budget. Apparently, Rumsfield has authorized a $25 Billon shortfall (Can't let the American public know how much this is really costing).

Apparently this is the first time there has been an outright refusal to submit a requested budget.

It is slow. We're missing PoP, Sheila, Renee, Vanilla Birdies, 9/11 ... who else?

Maybe they should stir up the immigration debate right before the election to ensure those new registrants show up at the polls.

  47. I was walkng the dogs a short while ago in a section of the park that I usually don't get to. I found a Buckeye tree and tried to find a few buckeyes for my daughter, a grad of The Ohio State University. Someone had beat me to it! The ground was covered with the outer shells...empty of the nuts. I did manage to find five buckeyes...that's all. I guess I shouldn't be surprised as the OSU Buckeyes are #1 in the land of college football and I am in Ohio. The football fans make necklaces of buckeyes around here. I live where Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio all come together. I went to Indiana University and I root for the Michigan Wolverines of Ann Arbor. They're good at football this year, too. During the televised Wolverines game Saturday, they showed a few scenes in and outside of my fave deli in the world, Zingermans. Great...make that fantastic sandwiches and even the broth and matzoh balls are special.
