Happy Birthday




We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

On this day in history 38 of the 41 delegates to the Convention to ratify the Constitution of the United States. From that day to this, it has been the basis for all laws written in the United States, and those rights guaranteed by this document should be treasured by every American.

A good reminder Jamie of our founding principles. Most people don't even know the Constitution represents the SECOND government of the United States of America. Most think the Constitution was created at the time of the end of the Revolutionary War -- you know by those folks who were the terrorists of their day!

I almost got fired from my teaching job in 2002 when I made the above point about our terrorists in 1775-1783.

One person's revolutionary hero is another person's terrorist -- ask King George and the Brits.
