5 On Friday - Bluegrass

Today, I've gone with a completely different genre with Bluegrass from Allison Kraus alone, then with Vince Gill, and with her group Union Station which you may recognize from the motion picture Oh Brother Where Art Thou, and to finish off, a couple of oldtimers in this type of music: Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs.

Jamie,I enjoyed you selections for this week.
Considering I was supposed to be in Nashville this week at the International Bluegrass Music Association conference with my cousin listening to some picking and strumming I've got to say that is the perfect post!
My cousin isn't much of an Alison Krauss fan for some reason but I've always loved her voice and it doesn't get much better then when you combine hers with Brad Paisley's.
Excellent selection of tunes here this week Jamie
Big thumbs up for Choctaw Hayride!
The song Whiskey Lullaby has such a haunting story.
I find it hard just to listen to bluegrass music because of the high pitch of the banjo. But I don't mind that so much on low volume in the back ground.
I did enjoy this Set though.
