Make Me A Kite

It is Spring. The breezes are blowing. There is only one thing to do with a blue, blue sky that will improve it: Paint it with kites and balloons. I'll catch the pictures of the balloon festival out of New Mexico later, but for now it is the quiet riot of kites and the hope they bring while soaring into the heavens.

Amanda McBroom is one of my favorite singer/songwriters. Most people know her work as the lyricist of "The Rose" sung by Bette Midler, but she has so many more songs. Sad songs, funny songs, wistful songs, and songs that make you think because she is a poet first and a singer after. Among her best are Errol Flynn, Ship In A Bottle, Sweet Dreams, and the song below:

Make Me A Kite.

Enjoy

P. S. Linda of Are We There Yet? has answered the five questions sent to her from Mo via Me. She will be looking for victims (er volunteers) to pass it along. Enjoy the answers.

Now this was great. Loved the song and I'm heading off to the park for my 3 mile walk. I often see a kite there. I really hope I do today. Have a great day :)

Kites! I haven't seen any out here yet, but I'm hoping that will change.

There's something immensely spiritual to a big blue sky. And kite flying had that sense to me too, even though it's been a long time since I did that as a kid at Wells Beach, Maine. But the feeling of the energy in the rope connected to the wind in the sky was really something.
