Refugee Refuge

While Craig is off putting the gag in lollygag, feel free to make this your home away from home. The bar is open and the tab is on me. Import your you tube music for the juke box. Toss the scraps to the animals and have a good time.

Oh if I only had a place, I would hang me a hammock and lay in it just like that!

I select When the Sun Goes Down, by Kenny Chesney.

Jamie , we disagree about Biden, but that's OK. He seems to believe he can separate Iraq into three rather autonymus state-like regions and each one can govern itself. To me it sounds like a pipe dream but good luck to him. He also dissed Edwards , saying he was walking picket lines the last 40 years or whatever, and Johnny-Boy just started.
I loved Dennis Kucinich tonight. If only I could will him to victory!
I now am confident Hillary will be the next prez.

Dexter,

All Biden and those of us who are for devolution are saying is put it back the way it was in some form. Iraq was an artificial British construct and it has been prey to every strong man dictator, and religious nut ever since.

jamie, thanks for hosting.

JBuffet (pronounced jay buffay)- perfect. He's one of my old favorites - sailing, tequila, rum, what's not to like.

Dex, sorry, but my take on JE is that he has identified labor as a base to win over, and has set out to do so. I think it's a little transparent. It may come naturally to him since his dad was a textile worker and my guess is that he was a union member - I believe most NC textile mills were unionized, but I'm not aware of anything that suggests that he was a union supporter before he began running for prez. Of course, i may be wrong about that.

The problem with Edwards is that he keeps setting himself up for accusations of being superficial. Apparently the picket line he mentioned in the debate was 20 minutes for the purpose of filming a commercial.

Now that may have been totally sincere, but it didn't look good to the fact checkers after the debate.

Checking in...

Opted out of writing c-listing or chatting in Brian's room last night during the debate. We pretty much got engaged and I tried to listen instead of react. I was very impressed with Kucinich and also liked Obama. Still dont know who to vote for at this point- need to see what happens in Iowa and NH, etc...but as of right now i am thinking I will likely go ahead and vote Obama unless Clinton is knocked out somehow and then will go with Skinny. Will be back

My guy is Richardson and he didn't do as well as I would have liked. Impressed by Clinton and Biden as potential nominees. Love Dennis, but snowball's chance and all that. He will always be a great gadfly and would probably do well in a cabinet position.

Are we allowed to curse around here?

jamie -
40 does seem pretty young to me now, but then so does 50 worn well. LOL But then again, Id think that a 40 y.o. would be laughed out of a YR gathering by the other two there.

Dad Gum it. Gold Dang it.

Just saying hi and cursing to make Brian happy. Debate impressions-

From my blog-
We watched the “Democratic Appearance” (I won’t call it a debate) last night at the AFLCIO gathering in Chicago. I am still undecided but after watching last night, I am leaning towards either Kucinich or Obama. That’s right back to square one. I thought Kucinich was the best speaker, but hesitate to go vote for him since he is unlikely to be nominated. I thought Biden was awful last night, and I was surprised, because he is a better candidate than that. He really screwed up when he dodged that question from that poor lady who lost her husband in the mine accident. He looked very insensitive. John Edwards seemed kind of fake to me last night. Richardson, I like but he just isn’t real exciting for me. Dodd I like a great deal but he reminds me too much of old Mike Dukakis, and I don’t mean in a good way (I liked Mike, but he lost). Hillary isn’t going to get my vote in the primaries. I am waiting to see how things go in the first few weeks, then I will likely support the most viable Hillary opponent. Unless Ron Paul is nominated, there is no chance in Hades I will vote for a Republican in the general election.

I read a couple of the Brother Cadfael books....nice twist...

I like Kucinich....da Koose....but it's whichever democrat all the way...looking back, I realize that I have never voted republican in my life....
